With more prizes, more opportunities and more great music then ever before, we welcome you to our 2008 Songwriting Contest. This year, every song submission you submit to the circle automatically counts as both a contest submission as well as an application for a spot at one of our ongoing events. The opportunities we are offering our members are ever evolving, so make sure you have your best stuff submitted to us for review.
Kate Voegele, Winner of the circle's 2006 Contest is currently starring in the hit TV Show "One Tree Hill" and her album debuted at #2 on iTunes Winners of the 2007 Contest, "Company Of Thieves" Were recently named "One of the top bands to watch for in 2008" by the Chicago Daily Herald. and recently featured in ASCAP Magazine.
All submissions are reviewed and screened by a professional listening team consisting of music professionals, established songwriters and industry tastemakers directed by Tina Shafer, the circle's artistic director. 12 Finalists will be selected to advance to the finals. During 2 live music events, November 5th and 6th, 2008* at the legendary Bitter End in New York City the 12 finalists will perform their song in front of a blue ribbon panel of judges and crowds of enthusiastic fans, from which the winners will be voted on a silent ballot.
All 12 finalists as well as winners of the International and the Young Writer Award will have their music serviced to all of our judges and sponsors as well as other music industry professionals and will be invited to perform with the circle at a later date.
Our list of judges, prizes and sponsors is constantly growing so keep checking back for the latest updates. Throughout the contest submission time period we will periodically publish our favorite submissions to our circle radio player for visitors to our website to check out and rate. If the song you have submitted is available for purchase online, please let us know when filling out the submission form so that if we feature it, we will also provide users a link to purchase your music, via the purchase link you provide us.

MAIL IN SUBMISSIONS:
If you prefer to mail in your submission, please print and fill out the 2008 Mail in submission form (PDF format) ,and include it with your music to us on CD. Make sure to follow all of the instructions detailed on the form to insure that we receive and process your submission as quickly as possible. You will receive an email confirming we have received your submission once it has been processed.
Deadline for submissions is September 30th, 2008.
