Tina Shafer
Singer Songwriter/vocal coach Tina Shafer, started hosting and booking the New York Songwriters Circle in 1991. Held at the legendary Bitter End in NYC. At first Tina called upon some of her writing friends to do shows in the round.
George David Weiss, Steven Dorff, Albert Hammond, Chuck Taylor, Siedah Garrett (Michael Jackson), Gary Burr, Hugh Prestwood, Big and Rich,Lana Del Rey, Gavin DeGrawlater she decided to incorporate young talent as well.
Tina is also a seasoned performer having opened to Suzanne Vega, sung with Phoebe Snow, John Oates, Marc Cohn, Gary Burr and Gavin DeGraw to name a few.

 

Jane Kelly Williams

Jane has enjoyed writing and sharing songs since teen years in
GA.  Of her 4 CD’s, the most popular with friends and family was, Tapping the Wheel,
made on Mercury Records in 1993. The last 10 years of playing at the Bitter End have all been due to the exciting
invitations of being part of a Tina Shafer lineup!

Andrew Fortier
Andrews seven and a half minuets of fame to date is his song I say grace which was recorded by international artist Hayley Westernra selling over 3 million albums. Andrew has also had 2 major recording deals with warner brothers and chrysalis records as well as a major publishing deal with EMI. His other seven and a half minutes of fame is his latest and sixth album to date called {time machine } that has been on top ten reverb nation charts since its release and most meaningful to him is the chance to record and perform with his daughter Andie Juliette and son Cole Fortier, its all about family for Andrew and the music we make together.

Kevin Bents
Kevin Bents is a long-time friend of the Songwriters Circle. In his band, The Black Friday Stampede, he sings and plays electric guitar and piano. This past summer he co-produced the music for an MTV Unplugged show featuring German superstar Marius Mueller-Westernhagen. He is a 3-time Emmy winner, and as a musical sideman has performed with Donald Fagen and Walter Becker of Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, Phoebe Snow, Jewel, and John Fogerty.

Everett Bradley

One of the most sought after singers, writers, and performers in the entertainment world, Everett Bradleys resume reads like a whos who of show business.
Spanning from multiple genres of music to theater and television, this Grammy-nominated force of nature has lent his unique blend of extraordinary talent, exuberance, and heart to every tour, session, Broadway show and TV program he has been a part of. And there have been many.

His vocal, percussion and keyboard work have included playing with Bruce Springsteens famed E Street Band, and touring with Bon Jovi and Hall & Oates. Hes been Carly Simons musical director, and worked with luminaries ranging from David Bowie to Cyndi Lauper, Bobby McFerrin, Snarky Puppy and Quincy Jones. A few of his Broadway credits include STOMP, SWING and AFTER MIDNIGHT as a lead performer, writer and arranger.

Recently, Everett finished a stint as musical director/bandleader for NBCs Meredith Vieira Show, for which he also wrote the shows theme song as well as all the other music included in the program.

Hugh Prestwood
Emmy Award-winning, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame songwriter Hugh Prestwood is a native of El Paso, Texas. He was discovered by Judy Collins, who gave him his first hit (Hard Times for Lovers), and who subsequently recorded several more of his songs.

Prestwood has penned #1 hits for Randy Travis, Trisha Yearwood, Michael Johnson, Shenandoah, Crystal Gayle, and Collin Raye. Other notable artists who have recorded his songs include Highway 101, Anne Murray, Conway Twitty, Lee Greenwood, Don Williams, Jackie De Shannon, Maura O’Connell, Tanya Tucker, The Judds, Jimmy Buffett, James Taylor, Jerry Douglas, and Alison Krauss.

He has also been honored with both the Nashville Songwriters Association’s and BMIs Song of the Year (Trisha Yearwoods The Song Remembers When NSAI — Randy Traviss Hard Rock Bottom of Your Heart(BMI).

Nick Deutsch
Nick Deutsch is an award-winning New York-based piano playing indie pop Singer/Songwriter originally from Wilmette Illinois. He has shared the stage with established singer-songwriters Ian Axle (Great Big World) and Jillette Johnson as well as recorded with American Idols finalist Marissa Pontecorvo. Songs off his EPs Crazy Ride and HeartSaver have won awards for Best Pop Male Vocal (2013 IMEA Awards), The Great American Song (2013 POP Category) and featured interviews with Pop Vulture Magazine, Apple Inc. the Huffington Post and Buzzfeed. Nick was also the recipient of a 2011 Philadelphia Songwriters Project Award, a 2011 New York Songwriters Circle Award, a 2014 American Songwriters Award Nomination, a 2014 International Songwriters Contest award, 5 UK songwriting semi-finalist nominations a 2014 ISC award, an International Vocalist Runner Up Nomination, and his lyrics (Crazy Ride / Hooking Up have won nominations and been printed in the nationally published American Songwriter magazine (May 2014/ Sept 2017). His music has also been featured on the hit TV series Younger and Nickelodeons Jagger Eatons Mega Life.
