November 6th Showcase

October 30th, 2017

Join us Monday November 6th for our award winning series!
The evening will feature
Anthony Nunziata

Annie Calder –
Annie Calder, a relative newcomer to the indie music scene, has quickly established herself as
an award-winning songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and singer in the US and UK. She delights
both listeners and fans with her subtle bits of humor interwoven amongst deeply personal,
often poignant exposes of life and love.
Originally from Orange County, CA and now living both there and in NYC, Annie has managed
to create endearing music which combines 60s folk/rock, Celtic folk and classical Baroque
influences in a uniquely bi-coastal, "Annie" way. Though her songs are cleverly written from
an adult perspective, Annie's soothing vocals, catchy melodies and universal themes can be
enjoyed by young, old and everyone in between.

Renita Cotton –
Renita Cotton is a pop, soul singer-songwriter based out of New York City. In the Fall of 2015, she released her first self entitled EP. Her latest single “Why Oh Why” was released earlier this year and she is currently working on her debut album.

Natasha Patel –
Natasha is a 21-year-old singer-songwriter of Indian nationality, born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She is currently in her final semester studying Music Business/ Management at Berklee College of Music. Her music is inspired by artists such as Frank Ocean, Bon Iver, Beyonce, SZA, Jhene Aiko and Lauryn Hill. The simple and intimate lyrics, aim to create a mood of nostalgia. With R&B vocals reminiscent of the 90’s, her sound is representative of the times and reflective of past. She hopes to continue building a career in performing and songwriting upon graduation.

Johnathan Loos –
Johnathan Loos is a songwriter, singer, and guitarist living in NYC by way of North Carolina. His music can be characterized by an attention to lyricism, vocal performance, musicianship, and composition. The occasionally obvious folk/americana quality—no doubt the result of musically formative years spent in the North Carolina foothills—is paired with a somewhat more modern, perhaps “pop” sensibility in some rhythmic aspects. Loos is working and recording in NYC, and plans to follow up his album, “Storm of Peace,” with a collection of new material this winter.

Alfa Garcia – Singer/songwriter Alfa hails from the Philippines by way of New Jersey, but she moved to LA in 2011 to establish a music career and has released 3 albums since then, including her 2017 album, “Spark & Fury.” Music Connection Magazine has called Alfa “an artist who has a spectrum of colors in her palette,” and “a songwriter with a knack for tickling a mainstream ear.” She’ll be singing tonight’s opening song, but you can catch her full set at Rockwood Stage 1 this Thursday at 6pm.NYSC-November-2017
