Kelly and Kat are sisters from New York. They have been performing since they were little and in 2014 after winning a Disney singing competition decided to pursue their career as a duo. Most recently they have worked with Adrian Young from No Doubt, who has co-written, produced and played on the tracks. About a month ago they released their latest song, We Were.
Elana Brody is an evocative singer-songwriter with “the voice of an angel” and stories to tell. Mixing both the wild eccentricities and expressiveness known well on the NYC streets, with the gentle nature of an upbringing in the rural Appalachian mountains of Virginia, Elana’s songwriting takes listeners on adventures into the heart of man, nature, and yearning. Susan Rogers, engineer for Prince & David Byrne, said, “Elana is my favorite genius. Whatever she does will be ahead of its time. She’s like a Joni Mitchell, Freddy Mercury, Ella Fitzgerald, Jeff Buckley. And we all know what these people had in common.”
Alec Macklin – from California, Macklin is a NYC-based singer-songwriter influenced by Soul, 60s and 70s R&B, Gospel, Classical and Americana singer-songwriters. His greatest influences are Nina Simone, Michael Kiwanuka, Stevie Wonder, Benjamin Clementine and many others. He combines his influences of older Black American genres, Classical, and Folk with a heart-wrenching vocal and lyricism. He has a lane all his own.
Wiet de Brujin – 20 year old singer/songwriter from the Netherlands. He is a sophomore studying Architecture at Parsons School of Design. This is his third time performing with the NYSC. He’s been writing music since he was 12, mostly write pop and r&b music.
Stella Prince – She has performed at legendary venues such as The Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and The Bitter End in New York City. Her goal is to bring back folk music to a new generation!
